Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast has teamed up with a local business Taking Off Hot Air Balloon Co, to bring you a cruise experience of a lifetime.

Our Hot Air Balloon Ride Package includes the following:

Float over the countryside with virtually no sense of motion and the only noise is the occasional hiss of the burner.

The flight is scheduled by the B&B in conjunction with your room reservations of which you will receive a confirmation. The experience is generally a two hour time period in the mornings(6-8am) or evenings(5-7pm) with 45 minutes minimum of air time.

Special Requirements for this package:
A deposit of $500.00 is required to secure this package. For this package A two week cancellation policy is mandatory. Canceling after the two weeks will forfeit your deposit. Cancellation due to bad weather or management at any time prior to takeoff will result in a full refund of your deposit.

I will need to know the weight of the two people riding. Both parties need to be in good health, and be able to possibly help with the set up and takedown of the balloon. Some of the experience comes from a team effort. It makes the experience much more fun to take part of a team effort.

Friday/Saturday nights, Holidays, Special Events, and the entire months of June and July will require a two(2) night minimum. Based on availability we may take a reservation for one night at that time. Culinary Class Weekend Package

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn to cook several delicious meals over the course of the weekend as well as sample some wines, enjoy wonderful desserts and have an entire weekend of relaxation and FOOD!

This is a date specific package, available only the weekend of  September 28th and 29th, 2012. Another way to remember this, each year the package is always scheduled for the last weekends of September and January.

Friday we feature a 5 course wine/chefs’ tasting menu from 6-8pm. As well as learning about 5 great wines you will also taste 5 items that that Executive Chef Gannon Leary will pair with the wines.  The wine tasting will be hosted by Jesse’s Restaurant within walking distance of the Bed and Breakfast. Arrive by 5:00pm on Friday and leave the rest of the weekend to us! The wine tasting from 6-8 and then dinner on your own, perhaps at Jesse’s Restaurant, specializing in Steaks and Seafood. But keep in mind that after a 5 course tasting menu most all of previous attendees are full and have not needed anything else, much less a full dinner!

The James Beard Foundation is widely known as the premier organization for the advancement of the culinary arts and provides a wide variety of benefits for their members and their recipients alike. Among their publications, the Directory of Fine Food and Beverage professionals, and their Restaurant Directory are the two most widely known. The foundation was founded in 1985 by Julia Child, and its advisory board is made up by some of the top culinary professionals in America. Jesse’s Restaurant is only one of four restaurants in Alabama listed in their annual Restaurant Directory!

Saturday you will wake up to a fabulous Gourmet 3-course breakfast meticulously prepared from scratch and beautifully served. From the fruit plate, to the main course and then, Yes, dessert. Innkeeper David Worthington takes extra special care to bring you one of the best breakfasts you have ever had. The breakfast is Five star dining, not in it’s formality but in the presentation and quality. The next experience of the day is that you will attend your first of two cooking classes the Gulf Coast Culinary Institute. Saturday afternoon/evening you will attend a Gulf Coast Seafood Extravaganza cooking class. After a brief lecture from the instructor on the foods of the Gulf Coast you will move into the kitchen where you will be instructed on classical and modern cooking techniques for seafood common to the Gulf Coast. Each person is actually at their own station for a “hands on� learning experience. Once all the food is prepared you will move out to the dining room to be served your mouthwatering dinner! That takes care of Saturday with a total of 7 courses of fabulous food!

Sunday you will wake to a light fare of fruit, muffins, coffee and juices and will head back to Gulf Coast Culinary Institute. David Worthington from the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast will school you in healthy ways to prepare excellent tasting breakfast/brunch casseroles and desserts from 9:00am to 12:00pm. You will not need lunch eating this awesome brunch and will depart around noon for home. Again, this is a total weekend of fabulous wines, food and fun!

We at the Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast have teamed up with Jesse’s Restaurant to bring you this wonderful dining package. The restaurant is located on 2/10’s of a mile from the B&B, serving fabulous food and drinks within easy walking distance!

Jesse’s Restaurant Executive Chef, Gannon Leary

Gannon was raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and moved to Mobile in 2001.  His formal training started at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans.  He branched out next and moved to Beaver Creek, Colorado where he was a Chef at Splendido Resort.  The Gulf Coast called him home where he was Executive Chef at Heron Lakes Country Club. Locals know Gannon’s delicious food mostly from his years as the Executive Chef at The Colony Grill in downtown Fairhope where he worked until they closed the doors.  We are blessed to have him as an integral part of our team/family at Jesse’s.  He has taken our food and menu leaps and bounds above where it has ever been.  Unlike many chef’s, Gannon is a people person.  He is often in the dinning room greeting and chatting up guests.
