
Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast near Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Beaches recently hosted a semi-annual Culinary & Wine Tasting Weekend.
A group of 9 guests from Corner, LA near Baton Rouge arrived Friday evening for the wine tasting and food pairing at Jesses Restaurant. The guests started with a Pino Grizo, followed by a Chardonnay, then Pinot Noir, a Cabernet and the final was a Malbec, each beautifuly paired with the following foods.

Chef Gannon Leary honed his culinary skills at various dining venues including Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, LA. A great job as always Chef Gannon.
Some of his past presentations have included; Norwegian Salmon encrute’ w/Vermouth Cream Sauce, Forrest Mushroom Ravioli w/Smoked Demiglaze (he calls liquid love-it takes four days to prepare and was the favorite of the evening !) covered in Truffle Oil, Profini Oil topped with Pea Sprouts, a Tenderloin w/Port Demiglaze topped with Blue Cheese, a Stuffed Chicken Breast Stuffed with Asparagus, a blend of white cheeses, wrapped in Applewood Bacon and topped with a reduced Beat Cream Sauce.
On Saturday the group had a full 3-course gourmet breakfast at the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast. Then classes at the Faulkner State Gulf Coast Culinary Institute where they prepared their own four course Gulf Coast Seafood dinner. Seafood cheesecake was among the offerings. We even fresh baked a chocolate cake for Robin’s Birthday to celebrate.
On Sunday fruit, muffins, juice & coffee before they returned to the institute for a class that David Worthington taught. They prepared several of our recipes offered at Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast. See Our Recipes
A great big “Thank You” goes out to our guests from Corner, LA for making the whole weekend possible. We had a most wonderful time of fellowship with them. We have made new friends and hope they visit our charming inn again soon.
